rentals, hotel reservations and any other activities.
• For out of the country beach destinations, get some
foreign currency before you go. If not make sure you

credit cards you want to take with you to use.

• Even though you ay be going to the hottest beach resort,
make sure you check out the local weather to arrive in suitable
clothes.
• If you are flying, confirm your flight and bring an
essential pack of items you will need in case of delay and if
you are driving make sure you bring road snacks and have
various maps available in case you get lost.
As summer time rolls around, travel agencies and beach
resorts know that this is there time to shine and most often
the prices rise tremendously. You must also remember that
you are traveling as a family so your beach resort vacation may
get a little expensive. Follow these tips for affordable
family beach vacations:
• Research your dream family vacation
online. It is your largest, fastest and cheapest
resource to do your vacation investigation. You will
be able to find various packaged deals, hotel rates and
car rentals. A great site to start off on is the
Family Travel Network.
• If it is a family vacation, do not go to really popular
tourist destinations. You will save tons especially
because where you are going is not where every one else is
going. Plus you may find it more quiet and a more
enjoyable experience to sit down with your family.
• If you are planning to go out of the country, you can
visit beach destinations in Mexico and in the Caribbean for
lower prices during off peak seasons. It will still be
warm and beautiful, but there might be a chance of slight
rain. But it is worth it since many of these resorts will
let your children stay for free. Plus on not so nice
beach days you can experience local culture.
• If you can be a little bit flexible with your schedule
you may be able to save hundreds of dollars. Depending on
the days that you fly out, this can determine how much you are
going to spend.
• Infants under the age of two fly free and you can also
get discounted air fare seats for them.
• If you are planning to drive, make sure you are driving
short distance, three to four hours max. Children often
can become irritating after many hours in the car. It is better
to fly if you have to stay in the car for a longer time
period.
• Consider all inclusive packages including family
cruises. The price may seem a little hefty at first, but
it does include everything. Think of the little extra
things that you are going to pay and put it all together.
You may find a number mush greater than for the all inclusive
family vacation.
Family resort vacations are great because you get to spend
time at the beach with the family. Be aware that the
beaches you go to may not be the nicest but at least the resort
will make up for them by having an exquisite pool area, water
activities and water sports.
Packing is a major part of a family vacation. Here are
some tips to make sure you have brought everything:
• Make a checklist. This is the surefire way to know
that you have everything you need.
• Make sure everyone has their own individual bag to avoid
confusion.
• Bring everything you need such as a bathing suit,
underwear, a nice outfit, toiletries, etc.
• Pack all of your poolside gear: goggles, sunscreen,
chapstick, sandals, beach chair, towels, etc.
If you follow these tips you will be on your way to having
one of the best family beach vacations of all time.
